Grandmaster Javed Khan Receives 2026 Martial Arts Legacy Award in Las Vegas

Grandmaster Javed Khan was honored in Las Vegas, Nevada, with the 2026 Who’s Who in the Martial Arts Legacy Award and induction into the American Martial Arts Alliance Foundation’s Who’s Who in the Martial Arts Hall of Honors.

The recognition was made even more special by the opportunity to meet and spend time with some of the great names of the martial arts world—individuals Khan remembers reading about and admiring long before he ever imagined sharing a stage with them.

Growing up in India, martial arts magazines were not always easy to find or afford. Khan often searched paper scrap dealers for used copies and saved his money to purchase the occasional magazine from a bookstore.

“Those magazines opened up the martial arts world to me,” Khan recalled. “I followed these martial artists through their pages and could never have imagined that years later I would meet some of them, shake their hands and stand alongside them as a fellow honoree.”

The Las Vegas weekend became more than an awards ceremony—it was a reminder of just how far a martial arts journey can travel.

Khan extended his special thanks to Grandmaster Jessie Bowen and Grandmaster Lawrence Arthur for facilitating the honor and for their commitment to recognizing the accomplishments and legacies of martial artists.
