The KPCT – Khan Do Kwan Police Control Tactics Level 1 Instructor Certification Course was successfully conducted at the Indiana Sheriffs’ Association (ISA) Training Center in Avon, Indiana. This intensive program brought together dedicated law enforcement professionals from across the state, all committed to enhancing their skills and advancing their roles as Defensive Tactics instructors.

Agencies represented in this class included Morgantown Police Department, Whiting Police Department, Rome City Police Department, Shirley Police Department, Greene County General Hospital Police Department, and the Sheriff’s Offices of Howard, Clinton, Tipton, Perry, Marion, Noble, Spencer, and Rush Counties.

Throughout the course, participants were trained in the core principles of KPCT Level 1, including striking, blocking, control tactics, ground survival, pressure point applications, joint locking techniques, control takedowns, and proper handcuffing procedures, as well as both single- and multiple-officer subject control techniques. Emphasis was placed on practical application, officer safety, and real-world effectiveness, ensuring that each participant left with the confidence and competence required to instruct within their respective agencies.

The class was marked by high levels of professionalism, engagement, and camaraderie, reflecting the dedication of Indiana’s law enforcement community. Upon completion, attendees are now better equipped to return to their departments and serve as certified KPCT Level 1 instructors, further strengthening training standards and officer readiness across the state.

KPCT continues to set the benchmark for realistic, effective, and legally sound law enforcement training—where victory is the only option.
